Lightning and her companions are thrown out of Cocoon having been deemed a threat, and need to overcome their curse by fighting for what they believe in.
You now only need to part with £19.85 for a copy of the game on the Xbox 360 from ShopTo, which is pretty good considering that the next best deal from Coolshop is nearly £5 more expensive at £24.68.
Final Fantasy XIII is a treat for the eyes, and also provides a satisfying story with numerous twists and turns, unfortunately the vast number of cutscenes often bogs down the gameplay. The combat system is amazing and has been designed to make you think how your merry band of heroes will work together during battles. The complexity of altercations with enemies increases as you progress through the game, which keeps you on your toes.
Unfortunately, the engrossing nature of the visuals and story are let down by the first few hours of the game, which are shockingly linear for an RPG title. The game does reward you later on by opening up to a scale that the majority of RPG fans will be used to, but by this time the damage has been done and you may well have switched to a game that doesn't limit you quite so much.
So, if you can look past the obvious flaws that the game has, this latest instalment of the Final Fantasy series contains a well told tale brought to life by some fantastic graphics, making it a beauty to behold and well worth a go for £19.85.
