Square Enix are now selling digital copies of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn again, having been forced to suspend sales to address massive server issues.
"Due to unprecedented demand to access the game at launch digital sales were suspended on 28 August," the company explains. "The company has performed extensive server maintenance, increasing the number of servers for players worldwide, the capacity of players per World and the number of concurrent players. Following this maintenance access to the game is now functioning as originally intended."
Final Fantasy XIV's relaunch may have been utterly shambolic, but many players have been seriously impressed by its quality, especially impressed to the awful original. We'll now find out whether it can sustain its player base - and justify its subscriptions - over the coming months.
