It's good news for the folks at Square Enix, as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has bucked the recent trend and seen an increase of subscribers, hitting the 4 million mark. To celebrate, it has granted all former players who currently have inactive accounts access to the game for a full week/ Having kicked off at 8am this morning, the access will continue until Monday, March 9 at 8am GMT.
Considering the continued support for the game, which includes new additions such as in-game Triple Triad and the tribute to FF7's Gold Saucer (complete with Chocobo Racing) it's quite clear that franchise fan service is helping to keep subscribers happy. Well, that and the fact it's a pretty fun MMO to boot. If you're looking to try out the game for yourself, we've rounded up all of the best offers, although PS3 players are absolutely the winners, bargain wise.
If you do decided to jump into the virtual world of Eorzea, don't forget that, beyond the initial 30 days, a subscription fee is required to continue playing the game.
