Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster £23.99 at Amazon on PS3

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD RemasterZavvi | £23.99

We've had three Final Fantasy XIII games now, so it shouldn't really have been a surprise when a HD collection nobody asked for was announced for the PS2 double of X and X-2X was actually pretty good and marked a debut for voiced-characters in the series and the combat system was still turn-based. X-2 was a bit wonky if I'm honest, but maybe we'll give it another shot. This is the best price around for the pre-order and it's worth noting that both games are the International versions with extra content not previously seen in Europe.

Now if only they would get round to remaking FF7.

Nobody asked for?

I imagine Final Fantasy X would definitely feature in quite a few people's top 10 PlayStation 2 titles gamers would like to see remastered in HD. X-2 is just a bonus at this point, but I myself am quite looking forward to giving it another chance.

FFX is an awesome game, X-2 not so much. I'm sure many people were happy to hear a HD version of X was being released, but it's true that they weren't necessarily asking for it. We all know which one people want to see remade.

I think saying that X-2 is 'a bit wonky' is being generous. Having grown up on the PS1 Final Fantasy titles, I played 7, 8, 9 and 10 in succession, and whilst everyone has their favourites out of those four, they were of a consistently high quality. Then X-2 came along and it is notably worse. Disappointing doesn't cover it. I can see myself buying this and playing X again, but I don't see why anyone would bother with X-2. It just isn't very good. At all.

Agreed, I played X-2 for about an hour and then never touched it again. Unfair maybe but I've never had that with any other FF, even 13 which I really don't like.

Zavvi had the same price on the collector's edition, sold out now though.

However, wowhd have both the ps3 and vita versions at £23.19 each, whereas most other places are charging nearly double for the vita version.

I'm buying for the first game, but I'm looking forward t trying X-2 at least (I only played it for an hour at first too).
