Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Trailer Shows Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison

Pre-Orders Upgraded To Limited Edition

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will naturally look to give the two PS2 JRPGs some spit and polish in the graphics department. This new video shows us some of the improved textures and extra detail side by side with the original games, and there's no denying the difference. However, there's also nowhere near enough Auron for our tastes. I got a fever, and the only prescription is more Auron. Moreon?

Square Enix also announced that PS3 pre-orders will be automatically upgraded to the limited edition, which includes an art book and steelbook packaging. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will ship on one PS3 Blu-Ray and retail separately on Vita later this year, with save files transferable across both versions.

My general reactions: hmm, doesn't look too different; actually to be fair Yuna's necklace looks a bit nicer in HD; ooh that fire looks pretty, and how about that lovely night sky; AARGH WEIRD FREAKY OUT OF SYNC BLINKING, MAKE IT STOP!; ooh, steelbook!

I thought that game was brilliant. Last good Final Fantasy as far as I'm concerned.

Watching this, I do remember hating the bizarre cross fade transitions where the footage stops prior to the fade. No idea why they kept that in. I always thought it looked awful.

That news is about the American version, we don't even have a release date or ability to pre-order yet. Amazon UK doesn't have box art let alone a steelbook version. The faces look weird in HD, they've done something wrong with the eyelids and the textures on the irises.
