Survival Horror Adventure Set For Q2

Flashback Creator Designing PSN Exclusive

Remember Flashback? The stylish adventure wowed Amiga fans (such as myself) back in the early nineties, meaning that we were delighted to hear that designer Paul Cuisset is hard at work on a new title. Amy will be a PSN exclusive- and is set to deliver a terrifying tale of horror, survival and a little babysitting to boot.

Amy will take place in 2034; centring on the small town of Silver City in the American Midwest. Players will assume the role of Lana, a survivor of a comet impact that has devastated the town as well as mutated its inhabitants- who has been infected with the alien virus herself. She'll need to cooperate with a defenseless young girl who possesses strange healing powers in order to keep the virus in check, whilst staving off hordes of grisly monsters and merciless government operatives.

Since the titular child is completely defenseless, players will need to keep a close eye on their tiny charge in order to progress. However, Amy is far from a useless burden and is capable of solving puzzles, negotiating tiny spaces and helping to stave off Lana's infection. Lana, on the other hand, will have her hands full dealing with the intelligent enemies who will use smell, stealth and pack dynamics to hunt the duo down. We've seen buddy mechanics used to great effect before- so if Cuisset can get the balance right, he may well be on to a winner. Otherwise it'll be a bit of a chore.

Amy is slated to be a downloadable PSN exclusive that's set for Q2, 2011. We'll be keeping an eye on it.

I remember Flashback, was an amazing looking game. Delphine games really were ahead of their time, I also really liked Cruise for a Corpse.
