Whereas street racing is gritty, rally driving is exciting, and racing games that include combat aspects are pure adrenaline fuelled fun, Formula 1 is the more civilised option of the racing genre and it has to considering the speeds the drivers reach could cause a disastrous wreck if something goes wrong, yet they make it look unbelievably easy.
You can grab a copy of the game with a handy steering wheel for £17.99 from HMV, which is exactly £4.50 cheaper than the next best price of £22.49 from Cool Shop UK.
The steering wheel, like the majority of Wii peripherals, has a slot for the Wii mote that allows you to take control of your car using the motion controls. Now, I've said it before and I'll say it again, I dislike using steering wheel controllers on the Wii because you just don't get the same level as precision as you do from using the nunchuck.
Not only do you have access to some of the best racers in the world, including Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel, and Mark Webber, but you'll also be able to take them out on what are undoubtedly some of the best tracks in the world, like the Autodromo Nazionale Monza and the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Sadly, the single player is far too short and the graphics aren't great. The biggest let down though would have to be the lack of online multiplayer, but local split screen multiplayer is supported so you can battle it out for first place against a friend provided they're in the same room.
Despite a few minor flaws here and there, the driving experience that the game offers is great fun to be apart of.
