Pretty cars? Check. Searing pace? Check. A thousand and one bits and pieces to fiddle with and tweak? You bet. That's right folks, we've got another Forza 3 deal for you. If you're an Xbox 360 owner and a petrolhead to boot, and you somehow managed to let this game bypass you, now is the chance to rectify that.
Amazingly, Coolshop have got in there first and whether it be through limited stock, a festive continuation of goodwill to all men, or simply temporary insanity, they've slashed the price on Forza Motorsport 3 down to just £20.99, which as far as I can see is a saving of £6 on the nearest competitor (Choices UK - £26.99).
Forza 3 is good. Really good. I'm not really a huge one for spending hours tweaking and changing every little dial and slider, which is kind of what put me off Forza 2, but I've found the third instalment to be surprisingly accessible.
The presentation is superb, the visuals pushing the machine to its limits and providing the experience with some eye-melting speed. The sound is wonderful, especially on a high-end system, and the car physics are spot-on. The gameplay, though, is what makes this game exceptional. I found Forza 2 to be a little detached, almost too clinical at times. But this is a much more fun experience: whether you're a driving newbie or racing veteran, Forza 3 will push and challenge you without ever forgetting that it's all supposed to be fun.
The speed helps a lot, and boy is it fast. But it's the seamless integration of the rewind feature that goes a long way into making Forza 3 a more accessible game. Screw up a hairpin? Just go back 5 seconds and try it again. The AI will push you, and with over 400 cars to choose from and 100 tracks to take on, you won't be running out of things to do anytime soon. Highly recommended, especially at this price.
