Free Legend of Zelda Soundtrack for Ocarina of Time 3D Buyers

The highly anticipated 3DS remake of one of gaming's most beloved titles hits European store shelves today, and to add to the sense of occasion, Nintendo have promised a free Legend of Zelda sountrack (on CD) to those that register their copy of OOT, while stocks last.  While the site itself states that the offer opens in a couple of days' time, we lucky Europeans are eligible for the gift as of today, by registering on the Club Nintendo website, which is back in action after the recent phishing attempts forced it down.

The CD itself will feature 50 tracks from the game, "many never before released", as well as a fully orchestrated medley "specially recorded for the soundtrack".  Miyamoto and Kondo provide a few insights within the liner notes, which also feature new character illustrations "created for the Nintendo 3DS release".  It's a blinding offer, and one you can't really afford to miss out on if you're one of the lucky ones picking up a copy of OOT today, considering it's free and all.  Stocks are limited though, so don't hang about!

And finally, every gamer's favourite baby-naming, beard-wearing, crazy-staring comedian has been on hand to promote Link's latest re-adventure, along with daughter Zelda.  Check it out below.  Just because.

Pointless for UK Citizens.

Terms read as:

Offer valid only to US and Canadian residents 13 and older who register The Legend of Zelda™ Ocarina of Time ™ 3D and complete the registration survey.

Actually, in a sad state of affairs, im replying to myself. The information for the cd is mentioned here on the UK site - http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/news/2011/our_official_website_for_the_legend_of_zelda_ocarina_of_time_3d_is_live_43207.html

I just got my confirmation email, rang up and checked too. CD is on its way!

Actually, stocks aren't limited - nothing mentioned about stock numbers on the site, apparently you're eligible for a copy provided you register by the end of the month.

Well GAME have failed to deliver the game today so I don't think I'll be able to get it. IF they run out of stock as a consequence I'll be returning my copy of OoT and getting it elsewhere.

NINTENDO Jerk just told me that they sold out their Europe allocation at 10am and that's why I just keep getting the same error message asking me to try again later! Well pi$$ed off!

Sim  Jun. 17, 2011 at 20:10

Me too - I've been trying for hours to get one... completed the registration and questionnaire, entered address and kept getting a message saying that 'an error has occurred whilst validating your data - please try again later'. I've literally been sitting here since 5pm retrying, and now got a page saying 'The page is no longer available'. Annoyed and frustrated, and disappointed with Nintendo.

I've been getting the 'an error has occurred whilst validating your data' issue too! URGH!!

Jose  Jun. 18, 2011 at 08:43

Great..... now the registration process has expired and I can't restart the process because it's saying i've already registered the code. Useless.

Gaz  Jun. 18, 2011 at 10:09

Jose, exactly the same thing happened with me! I would ring back and complain if I thought anyone would give a toss!

I had a bit of a sticking point with 'Street Address', but there's a box to uncheck at the bottom so you can fill it in manually. You need to use both adjacent boxes - so house name/number/flat number in the left, street name in the right - at least that's how I did it.

You're not alone, either, there've been a number of people across the forums unable to register or even access the page - possibly due to intense traffic, or bugs with the system. The site was offline for maintenance a couple of days before OOT 3D released, so it's highly possible someone cocked up.

We've emailed for comment. When I rang at 3.30 yesterday, everything was more or less fine, although further calls have led to 15 minute+ waits.

Someone over at the ONM forums reported that he was told there were only 1000-2000 available despite no mention of a limit before: http://forums.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=80686&sid=595c7dafbe7ae8a6bea468b45eda938e&start=650#p3196768

Thanks for the update, Matt.

Matt, I have tried that and several other combinations, such as number in the first one and address below, but nothing seems to be working? HELP?

Subzerostupid  Jun. 19, 2011 at 13:30

My dad screwed up the preordering so I had to go and buy it. Ergo, I couldn't register the game until Saturday at three o'clock. I had the same problem with 'validating data' as everyone else.

If it helps, it seems they're still taking CD orders from UK/EU people- I just received my copy of the game today and went through the registration and survey no problem. At the end it allows you to put down your address details for the CD to be shipped to.

I also just received my confirmation email not too long ago - so don't give up guys! The same problems some of you had a friend of mine sadly experienced also, but a call to the support has managed to rectify things.

Try giving Ninty a call or drop them an email; there definitely appears to be CDs left for us.

I just called them, and they said to me that if you've registered your copy before the 30th, you WILL be getting a copy. They said just "to keep an eye out for an email with details", although they haven't worked out the logistics of how they were going to do it, but that they were planning to ensure everyone got a copy of the CD.

I joked that they must be getting about five calls a minute with the same issue and he joking conceded that "it certainly feels like it!"
