Frozen Synapse is easily one of 2011's best games. It topped our Indie Game Of The Year shortlist, won our Strategy Game Of The Year award and scored a perfect ten in our Frozen Synapse review. Excitingly, Mode 7 Games plan to add a host of new content in a forthcoming update including ruleset mutators and new music to listen to while you plan your vicious assaults.
The first part of the DLC will be "musical" thanks, in part, to the critical success of Frozen Synapse's soundtrack. Mode 7 boss Paul Taylor confirms that the update will include six new songs, two of which were made fleetingly available in last year's Humble Bundle.
From a gameplay standpoint, though, we're more excited about a slew of mutators that will add new and interesting dimensions to the gameplay. Double Kill will allow units to simultaneously frag each other, Focus Aiming nerfs camping by making mobile ambushes more accurate and Move-And-Shoot does exactly what it says on the tin. With a cross-platform iPad version on the horizon, the future is very bright indeed for this breakthrough indie phenomenon.
