Gaikai Site Update Hints Towards Streaming PS3 Games

200+ titles? 50m+ gamers a month? Those are the figures that come shrieking forth from Gaikai's new site revamp, and that's not the only thing.

The revised website has been updated with a background hosting some images of a few rather familiar video game franchises, with the likes of Mass Effect, Killzone, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, God of War, and Uncharted peeking out from the background.

With Sony apparently committed to backwards compatibility for next-gen (and with their stable, why wouldn't they be?!), the mouthwatering prospect of having a back catalogue delivered via Gaikai on your Sony console could well be a possibility.

Here's the official blurb from the redesigned site:

Over the past several years, we’ve worked tirelessly to re-define the way people access and play video games. We developed amazing streaming technology, assembled an accomplished management team, and built the world’s most widespread cloud gaming network.

And while we think all of that is pretty cool, we’re not done yet. As a new member of the Sony Computer Entertainment family, we’re working even harder to ensure the world’s best entertainment content is delivered instantly to you, no matter where you are in the world.

Is that a little hint towards mobile? Could we have Uncharted 3 running on a Vita via Gaikai? Subscription-based access to Sony's extensive library on the go? If that does happen, considering how well Sony have balanced the price-vs-value ratio for Playstation Plus, it might be a case of them shutting up and taking my money.

Thanks TVB.
