...and just when we thought everything was fine.
It turns out that a fat unpaid rent bill for GAME's flagship Oxford Street site could mean eviction for the retailer.
The Telegraph reports that GAME had been required to pay a £100,000 advance on the next three months rent to landlords Lazari GP the day before they went into administration.
PwC, who took over as administrators a day later are flatly refusing to pay the bill because they only took over proceedings and became responsible for the store the day after the rent was due.
A week after that, they assisted in a buyout from OpCapita, who bought 333 Game stores out of administration last month.
However, Game Retail (UK), the company formerly known as Baker Acquisitions that OpCapita set up to handle this venture, are now under threat at the site as a new court order has given Lazari GP permission to remove the tenants from the site at any time while this matter is being disputed.
Squeaky bum time indeed.
