Game of the Year 2014 - Community Vote

It's that time of year, folks. We'll be kicking off our staff picks from tomorrow, and you can already start casting your votes for Dealspwn's inaugural Retailer of the Year Award, but this is where it gets real. We'll all have our personal opinions, and there'll be much throwing of objects, attempts to work out results through explosive science, and heated arguments that end up being settled through the medium of office chair jousting as we work out our site pick for Game of the Year, but this one is all about you.

It time to kick off the voting for the Readers' Choice Game of the Year 2014.

There are plenty of excellent games to choose from, and no doubt we've forgotten a few, but we've added in a box for you to fill if there are ones that we've missed. The great debate begins -- what's been your Game of 2014?

What was your game of 2014? We want to know what you voted for and why, let us know in the comments box!

Just as I was becoming bored with FPSs thanks to the COD conveyor belt one game made the genre great fun again, so gets my vote.
The matchmaking was hit and miss for a while but I thoroughly enjoyed Titanfall like no other game this year.

The Banner Saga, wow I loved that game, finished it twice, still couldn't keep Egil alive. I know what i'm doing this evening

Dragon Age: Inquisition - best RPG on consoles for some time. Excellent fun. Gets my vote!

Definitely Shadow of mordor for me. Had started to become apathetic towards gaming thanks to much more work and only playing games fifa or cod to fit in shorter sessions. But it's genuinely reminded me why I enjoy gaming. Such a genuinely fun game, and love the combat.

Where is Five Nights At Freddy's? Love it. I know it is really new compared to the other games, but come on.

Gosh - Seeing this list I see how few games I've played this year thanks to becoming a dad... Never mind - went for transistor as I loved bastion and its one I will definitely buy and play at some point.

It balances out. You'll get a lot of fun playing games with the little 'un in a few years' time.
It starts with annoying little kids' games, progresses through stuff that's mainly marketed as being for kids but is actually great fun for adults too, and then hopefully progress to "hardcore" games with them.

Either that, or you'll grow up and stop playing games.

I opted for the former, personally... ;)

I hope for the later but we'll have to see I guess :(
