There's only a week left to get your votes in for this year's Games Media Awards.
As per usual the nominations are all provided by YOU - gamers, consumers, readers, listeners, and beloved denizens of the internet. And as it appears to be de rigeur every year it, we figured we'd
pimp ourselves out let you know how you can get involved, and nominate your favourites sites, mags, video streams, and podcasts this year.
The categories this year are as follows:
- Games Website
- Games Magazine
- Specialist Writer - Print
- Specialist Writer - Online
- Writer - National Newspaper
- Writer - Mainstream Magazine
- Games Video
- Games Radio and Podcast
- Games Blog
- Rising Star
- Coverage by a Mainstream Website
- Top Tweeter
- Games Writer of the Year
Nominations close next Monday (with MCV extending the date from the 20th to the 23rd), and you can submit your shouts to firstname.lastname@example.org. Finalists aren't chosen by the number of submissions, but rather by persuasive lobbying, so be sure to write some nice words about the folk you'd like to see win.
Then, once the shortlists of finalists have been drawn up, the winners (aside from in the prestigious Games Writer of the Year and Legend categories) are voted for by members of the media and industry PRs.
Indeed, Games Writer of the Year is a new award for 2012, and will see the stylistic flair and glittering prose of all submissions weighed and measured by award-winning journalist and Guardian columnist Tim Lott.
There's more details on how to lobby for your favourites right here, and although we're not going to harp on about it, if you did happen to drop our name into the "Games Blog" category, or championed the PWNCAST in the "Games Radio and Podcast" slot, we'd love you forever.
Shortlisted finalists will be revealed on August 10th.
