Gaze In Slack-Jawed Amazement At The Ludicrous Final Fantasy Super Box

To celebrate Final Fantasy's 25th anniversary, Square Enix are rolling out a frankly ridiculous Super Box that contains all core 13 games for PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP, a soundtrack, loads of extras and a code for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. In an attempt to make you incredibly envious, they've released a new unboxing trailer.

The Super Box has only been announecd for Japan, but you'll feel better knowing that it costs about £350 at the current exchange rate. Anyway, you can torture yourself below.

Holy hell, it's THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY QUID?!
Love Final Fantasy, but that's more than most of the cars I've ever owned.

(Yeah, I've had a lot of bangers :p )

¥35,000 looks to be more like £275 at current exchange rates, actually. That'd be £330 after VAT, mind, so not far off the £350 mark...

£350 is a LOT of money, but if this set is limited enough then a set kept is pristine condition will probably command quite a bit more in a few years.

It's still only available in Japan, so you'll need to fork out for shipping/customs too.

@mmbeak: probably, though nowhere near as much as original NES/SNES versions of the original games would since these are PS1-PS2 versions. Still has serious collectible clout, though, you're right.

From what i've seen elsewhere these aren't PS3 ports. 1-9 will be on PS1 discs, 10-12 will be PS2, and 13 will be PS3.

That's true, actually - I've updated the article to make that a bit clearer. Thanks MattBrennan.

Not a problem, now all I need is a spare £350 and a PS2.
