Launches Crowd Funding Initiative
Last November, we featured Grand Class Melee in one of our Xbox Live Game Of The Week roundups; praising the multiplayer brawler's customisation options, smooth action and great visuals. Gigatross Games has now announced a sequel for the PC, "adding online multiplayer and expanding the game in every conceivable way," but will need to secure some crowd funding in order to get the ball rolling.
We've got the details - and their pitch - below. It's a bit like "Bomberman meets Zelda with an RPG job system twist."
Grand Class Melee introduced the series' core gameplay: an 8 round contest with players moving up a class ladder, gaining a new ability and a stat boost with each round and further equipping themselves with an ability from a previous class. With its fast-paced progression from the bottom to the top of the class tree and a bevy of ability combinations to experience along the way, Grand Class Melee set the foundation that GCM2 takes much further.
GCM2 will feature 120 different classes, offering double the selection from Grand Class Melee, and introduces not only new gameplay modes, but also deeper battle mechanics and scoring metrics. The randomly generated battlegrounds return, featuring far more variety and interactivity, and Gigatross is building on the fan-driven class balancing system established for GCM1 that collects player input towards greater game balance.
Gigatross Games are currently seeking startup capital of $20,000, with a crowd funding campaign now live on Indiegogo. Check it out and see what you make of it.
