At A Glance: Roundup 19th-25th August 2013

It's been one hell of a week as the Gamescom Expo draws to a close. Sony finally confirmed a release date for the PS4 and although Microsoft failed to follow suit, they did announce that all day one Xbox One purchases will come with a copy of FIFA 14. New game announcements were very thin on the ground this year, but we have lots of new trailers for you in the roundup below. Deciding what games to buy in the next few months is going to be a nightmare. Assuming we're not all still playing GTA V in January.

We've been hard at work squeezing in a few reviews amongst all the coverage from Cologne. Tales of Xillia, Shelter and Pikmin 3 all scored highly and should be on your lists for games to check out on the PS3, PC and Wii U respectively. Caution is advised though for the shoddy remakes of Space Hulk and Flashback though. Some things are best left in the past.

Gamescom dominates our features this week with daily video postcards from Matt and Carl giving us the lowdown on the events at the expo. Early previews from Germany include hands-on reports with the Xbox One controller, Titanfall and of course Peggle 2. Elsewhere Matt had a play of the upcoming console version of Diablo III and Carl took the time to find out all the details for Wildstar's business model. Stay tuned all next week when we'll be bringing you even more previews and interviews from the biggest games show on the planet.
