Live Stream Kicks Off At 4pm
God Of War: Ascension's director Todd Pappy will be streaming a live Q&A Session at 16:00 BST today, answering fan mail and giving us insight into what Santa Monica plans to bring to the table in Kratos' upcoming origins story. However, some intruiging new details have already slipped the net regarding a first for the series: online multiplayer.
USA Today reports that Ascension's multiplayer component will allow two teams of four players to "compete, domination style, against each other," and eventually face off against a massive boss for the win. Pappy states that Santa Monica wants to "bring the big moments to multiplayer," balancing traditional battles for supremacy with the hectic and intense encounters from the singleplayer campaign. Teams will have to cooperate to successfully kill the biggest enemies, using separate chain attacks to bind and eventually kill them.
Eurogamer corroborates the report, suggesting that the new mode "combines the brutal gameplay and large-scale battles that God of War is known for to create a competitive experience like never before."
We'll learn more during the live stream, and more screenshots are due to follow. UPDATE: check them out here.
