Sing it with me, folks.
Gold controller! (wa waaa waah!) It's the peripheral, the peripheral that you'd love to touch! And now you can toooooooouch!
For less than £20. Of course, you could just as easily buy the standalone game for less than a tenner, but just look at that controller.
After a lot of resistance I gave this one a go and you know what it surprised me because it turned out to be quite good, especially for a Wii game. Yes it's a bit odd to see Daniel Craig in Pierce Brosnan's shoes in the single player, but you get over it fairly quickly, and the multiplayer is every bit as addictive as the original's. Amazon and Play are currently parting with copies of the game for £9.99, which'll make you a saving of almost £3 on the next best offer coming in from Dixons. Thanks to Replay41 @ HUKD.
It’s taken a little while to get there, but the re-imagined version of the N64 classic has finally fallen below the magic £10 thanks to the price drop by ShopTo. It’s a deal that will net you a saving of £3 over the next best offers at The Hut and Zavvi. While Jon’s review goes into more detail, it’s a fine attempt of recapturing the essence of what made Goldeneye 007 so much fun back in 1997. The single-player brings the Daniel Craig grittiness to the updated plot (without Sean Bean sadly) and the addition of online multiplayer allows you kill your friends without them being in the same room. A helpful observation though; if you have them this game is best played with a classic controller rather than with the Wii-mote, especially during local multiplayer sessions.
