Any good scary games out there?

Just finished FEAR 3 and it was RUBBISH. Wasn't scary at all! Need some recommendations for scary games please!

Condemned would be your best bet, if you haven't played it already. Turn the lights off, plug some headphones in, and have a fresh pair of trousers on standby. Pretty much the only current generation game that has frightened me senseless. Avoid the sequel though, Monolith seemed to forget what made the first game so scary when they made the ridiculous Condemned 2.

Penumbra and Amnesia on the PC are also cracking, but you'll need a relatively decent rig to enjoy those as they're meant to be played.

I'd have to go a bit further back to suggest any really good horror games, but I assume that would be irrelevant to you. I'm also in need of a good horror title; would love to hear anyone else's suggestions.

Amnesia is a cracking suggestion. No weapons, just fear to keep you alive. You are so underpowered and underprepared as a central character, and the effect is brilliant.

FEAR 1 made me jump more than Doom 3, but the trick is all in your surroundings. Get Amnesia, turn out the lights, shut the door, and wear headphones. I'd get a bucket too...you'll have pee'd yourself by morning.

Silent Hill 2 is still the daddy, but Dead Space and its less edgy sequel are some of the best examples of late.

Agreed. Dead Space 2 is arguably a better action title, but the scares are few and far between. The original is a cracking example of horror done right.

The scariest is Amensia for sure.

My brother likes Dead Space, Dead Space 2 etc. but he loves Amnesia the most. However he recently decided to give up halfway through Amnesia because it was just too scary!

I would also go with Amnesia and Silent Hill (1 or 2).

If Japanese horror is your thing then the Fatal Frame series would be a good one. I bought Fatal Frame 2 for a friend -- he ended up making his girlfriend play it for him while he watched (from behind the gaps between his fingers I imagine).
