Warner Bros Interactive and Monolith have rolled out a new - and deliciously free - update for Gotham City Impostors. Players will have access to a new map, a bounty hunter gametype (think Modern Warfare 3's Kill Confirmed) and the ability to choose character voices from multiple languages.
We took Gotham City Impostors to task for terrible netcode, weak matchmaking and a lack of meaningful content despite the solid and fun mechanics - so hopefully this update will go a long way to fixing these lingering concerns.Click here for the Gotham City Impostors update trailer >>
Gotham City Impostors has received a free DLC update on Xbox 360, which promises to fix the abysmal matchmaking problems that plagued players since launch - as well as adding 'join in progress' functionality. A new map, two new weapons and extra costume content is also included and should help bulk out what was a deceptively poor value proposition.
This DLC will be available on PS3 and PC "in the near future."
I may - possibly - be persuaded to moderate my 6/10 Gotham City Impostors Review if this patch fixes enough problems and adds enough new content.
Gotham City Impostors, Monolith's 6v6 Batman-inspired multiplayer shooter, will be releasing on Xbox 360 tomorrow... and its launch has been prefaced by a staggeringly prolific number of DLC packs. The majority of these 105 packs contain clothing and cosmetic character customisation options that range from between 80 to 320 Microsoft Points each.Click here to read more...

Warner Bros. Interactive and Monolith has officially announced that Gotham City Impostors will be launched January 10, 2012 on PSN, XBLA and PC. We've actually become rather enamoured by this colourful and slick downloadable shooter after trying it out, and we've got previews of its Deathmatch and Psychological Warfare gametypes on-site.
An open beta for the game is expected to go live in December. Register here if you're up for it.
Gotham City Impostors is based around an interesting premise (briefly touched upon by The Dark Knight): gangs of vigilantes impersonating Batman and The Joker and taking to the streets in their name. It's really quite mad - and so is this animated trailer that tries to make sense of it all.
Watch it after the break... and be sure to check out our Psychological Warfare gametype and Deathmatch hands-on previews. Gotham City Impostors will release next year via digital distribution - and we'll Batkeep you Batposted.Click here to read more...

"Be aware that this is a closed beta with a limited number of codes, but when we start sending them out we'll be sure and let everyone know on Twitter and Facebook."
We were pleasantly surprised by Gotham City Impostors when we tried it out at E3. The build we played was rife with balance issues and a tenuous link to that Batman universe at best, but the core action and unlock system was undeniably impressive. We'd be interested to hear what you guys make of it.
The more we hear about anarchic multiplayer spin-off, Gotham City Imposters, the more we're coming around to it here at Dealspwn. Sounding like a mad mix between Team Fortress and Jet Set Radio, the Xbox LIVE and PSN title is due in early 2012. That's a little while off, and at least we have Arkham City to fill the gap until then. A new trailer has just hit the net, check it out after the jump.Click here for the new Gotham City Imposters trailer
