So much for exclusive. The Grand Theft Auto IV expansions, The Lost and the Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony, which Microsoft apparently paid upwards of 50 million US dollars for to retain timed exclusive rights, are now available for PS3 owners to enjoy. And it's a lot to enjoy. Of the two, The Lost and the Damned is a superior story, as biker Johnny Klebitz must ensure his fresh-from-a-cell friend and gang-leader, Billy Grey, doesn't ruin the business Johnny has been cultivating in his wake. The Ballad of Gay Tony, while still as irreverent and polished as you'd expect from Rockstar, relies more on set-piece action and a return to form of the wild and wacky heydays of old-school GTA. What's most impressive about Episodes from Liberty City is Rockstar's attempt to weave each campaign into Niko Bellic's original story. We meet both Klebitz and Lopez in the diamond-museum level, and the circumstances surrounding that event build, from start to finish, to ensure Liberty City truly feels like just that: a city. Alive and breathing, with multiple characters and their own dire fates.
