The Game Collection seem to have really upped their, um, game recently, with some great deals popping up from them in the last few months. Their price of £11.99 for 2008's Grand Theft Auto IV beats the competition by almost £3 (next best price is £14.71 from Asda Entertainment) and that's before you knock off an extra quid with a voucher code.

You take on the role of Niko Bellic, smuggler, human trafficker and Bosnian war veteran - basically your Average Joe Niceguy. After a botched smuggling job, Niko has to make a speedy exit from Europe and so heads to Liberty City to pursue the American Dream. Needless to say, the American Dream seems to involve a whole lot of violence and illegal activity.
There is no doubt that GTA 4 is a very high quality, excellent game. The graphics were, at the time, pretty much unsurpassed and offer an incredible level of detail. The realism has been ramped up and Liberty City is a huge sandbox for you to explore.
However, I personally found that once I got over the initial wonder at the scope and veneer of Grand Theft Auto IV I was left feeling, dare I say it, a little underwhelmed. The story is good and the characters interesting but very few seem even a little likable. Once you were through with the narrative there is little in the way of sidequests, so while you have this huge city at your disposal, there is little left to do with it. Most of all I missed the tongue in cheek good nature of the previous outings of the series. It's a must-play for sure, but in my case at least, a must-play once only.
