Unless you got an early copy of GTA V from Amazon, you can while away the next nine hours by playing the official iOS companion app, which lets you create custom numberplates and customise vehicles for use in the game. And put in some time with Franklin's virtual dog.
iFruit, available now from the App Store (for free), is designed to give you a head start on Grand Theft Auto V's campaign. Lampooning Apple products and the in-game iFruit smartphones, the application includes the ability to reserve custom numberplates for use in the story campaign and GTA Online, as well as customising vehicles to use in-game. Simply make a custom car, then export it to your garage.
The Chop The Dog minigame presents an anarchic take on virtual pets, letting you spend quality time with Franklin's pooch. You know, feeding him, walking him, teaching him to run away with sunbathers' bikinis - the usual. However, playing iFruit will affect Chop's personality in GTA V, making him more helpful, responsive, versatile and capable of finding hidden items.
GTA V releases tomorrow, and apparently it's half-decent according to early reviews. Probably worth a punt if you're a fan of the genre. Also, erm, I think I feel a cold coming on *sniffle*. Better not turn up to the office tomorrow, just to be sure.
