Harasser Buggy Now In-game
In what is being touted as their “biggest Game Update yet,” Sony Online Entertainment have released GU 08 for their free-to-play MMOFPS PlanetSide 2. Along with the usual bundle of game fixes and balance checks, the update brings a bunch of new additions to the online action, including the Harasser Buggy. Capable of carrying three players (including a MAX unit in the rumble seat) we suspect some rather interesting combinations will be enterting the battlefield from today. You can see the new vehicle in action by checking out the video below, before getting some additional details about the GU after the jump.
MAX units will be getting some new abilities in the next Game Update, but for now they not only have new cosmetic options available in the microtransaction store, but have a new anti-vehicle weapon at their disposal depending on which empire they fight for. The Vanu get the beam-firing Vortex VM21, the Terran Republic get the dual rotary cannon MR1 Fracture, and the New Conglomerate get the laser-guided NCM3 Raven.
Fine tuning to a number of weapons has also been included in the update, and tanks have been given an armour upgrade “to give our lumbering armored friends a bit more survivability.” The UI has also been gifted with new additions, including the ability for players to customise the colour of empire players and bases. You can check out the list in full by heading over to the official forums.
If you have yet to try out the F2P MMOFPS, you can read all about it in our PlanetSide 2 review.
