Pre-Order Benefits Detailed
ArenaNet has announced when players will be able to pre-order a digital copy of their upcoming MMORPG Guild Wars 2, as well as revealing that all pre-orders, regardless of the edition, will provide guaranteed access to the upcoming beta weekend events along with a 3 day head-start before the official launch.
Three flavours of edition will be available on the official website from April 10th, each with varying levels of additional extras. The no-frills Standard version will provide the base game, while the Digital Deluxe Edition provides an extra in-game ability as well as several items to use. The Collector’s Edition naturally provides the largest amount of goodies, including a making-of book, a figurine, a custom art frame, art prints, and a copy of the soundtrack, as well as everything from the Deluxe Edition.
All pre-orders, even the standard version, will also receive an item called the Hero’s Band, which will grant players will a stats boost upon entering the game. However, pricing is a little expensive compared to the norm. The standard version will set you back £49.99, the Digital Deluxe Edition will cost £64.99, and the Collector’s Edition will cost a whopping £129. Thankfully, as this MMO will not require a subscription beyond the purchase, you might be able to argue the hefty price tag. You can check out all the details here. Guild Wars 2 will be available from other retailers, but it has been confirmed that those that go down that route will only get a 1-day head-start prior to launch. It is worth noting that no official release date has been stated yet, but we will be sure to let you know as soon as the word is out.
This news comes after the success of gaining 1 million beta sign-ups in just over 48 hours, which is an impressive feat. We’ve been hands-on with Guild Wars 2 and it certainly is shaping up to be a strong contender in the MMO genre.
