Gun Monkeys Gets Permanent Price Drop To Get Players Onto The Servers

Get Two Copies For £3.99

Gun Monkeys, the recently-released multiplayer shooter from the British indie team behind Ben There, Dan That!, has received a staggering price crash on Steam in an attempt to increase its online player base.

Despite only releasing on June 28th and garnering critical praise from all corners of the internet, Gun Monkeys has seen a relatively slow uptake, leading to slow servers in early hours of the morning. Size Five Games took the decision to decrease the price from £7.99 to £3.99, which will also net you two copies.

“It’s something I’m doing *extremely* reluctantly, because I don’t want to devalue the game," Size Five Games' Dan Marshall explains. "I 100% think it was worth $10. But I’ve come to the conclusion that the game’s multiplayer-only concept is a tough sell, so a pricing change is a necessary evil. It’s just not fair on the people who are playing and enjoying the game that they’re struggling to find people to play, so I’m doing everything in my power to remedy that.”

"You really do have to sell HYPER-LOTS of copies in order for the servers to have anyone in them, triply so if you’re trying to get a game at 4am. This is a fact I now know that I didn’t really appreciate before.”

Bad time of the year to release anything on Steam. June 28th, I'm sure I wasn't alone thinking "I'll wait for the Steam Summer Sale, it must be soon".

I have heard nothing about this game until now, so it wasn't covered on steam very well at all.

Edit :- Is it really 1 vs 1 Multiplayer only? I see very limited appeal in the game. VERY Limited :(
