Halo 4 Reveals Dominion Multiplayer Mode

Halo 4 will feature a new multiplayer mode that plays on Battlefield's Conquest gametype with a few exciting twists.

As reported by The Verge, Dominion Mode plays out a little like a Conquest or Domination match, in the sense that teams vie to capture three control points and win by securing them for long enough.

However, these control points take the form of small bases and structures that gradually resupply if a team maintains possession. As bases regenerate, they'll eventually sprout defensive automatic turrets, blast doors and vehicle spawn points over a period of time. The countdown slows or stops completely if opponents vie for the control point, meaning that its imperative for teams to maintain momentum. This should lead to some unbelievably frantic matches to say the least.

Halo 4's multiplayer is looking more exciting every time we see it, and we'll find out whether 343's singleplayer campaign is up to snuff come November 6th.

Is anyone else a bit concerned that when it comes to actually playing Halo 4, there won't be anything new to see. 343 have just inundated us with conceptual stuff, story info, weapons, creatures, everything. They could learn to take a leaf out of Valve's book and keep schtum every once in a while.

Of course, not being a Bungie game, I'm also concerned that it'll be complete balls.

Actually, yes. This has been a hot button issue around the office recently. Carl and I share your concerns, though Matt rightfully pointed out that much of this has to do with maintaining transparency to help fans ease into the transition between Bungie/343.

Hopefully, what we know so far will pale into insignificance next to some massive revelations. Hopefully.
