A new interview has revealed that Halo 4's Spartan Ops mode - the first season of which will be free to all who purchase the game new - will take place six months after the events featured in the main game's campaign mode.
343 Industries′ David Berger and Kevin Franklin spoke to VG247 out at E3 to explain how the supplemental DLC will tie in with the game's primary storyline.
“With [Spartan Ops] being such a story-driven mode, it’s something we really wanted to be able to really push the fiction forward with after the launch of the game,” said Berger.
“It takes place about six months after the events of the campaign, but as you’ve seen in the cut-scene, the Infinity features in also the campaign. So we have some ties in the story between the two.”
As outlined last week, the first season of Spartan Ops - five missions per week over ten weeks - will be free.
"With months of content of that style so that we can really push the story and fiction forward after launch," continued Berger. "And that’s all part of the game.”
