Movie tie-in games rarely have much in the way of integrity but Hannah Montana: The Movie is one of those special titles that seems to exist purely to take the piss out of the very people it is marketed towards.
The one good thing I can say about this game is that it is cheap, at least if you buy it from Shop To. They are currently selling the title for £7.95 (and it is included in their 2 for £15 promotion) which is over £5 less than the next best price of £13.00 from Cool Shop.
It would be reasonable to expect a video game based on the Hannah Montana movie to be a singing and dancing karaoke affair but instead you get a strange "on the ranch" adventure with a few performance segments thrown in for bad measure. Calling the country life sections of the game (where you take on the role of Hannah Montana's mild mannered alter ego "Miley Stewart") an "adventure" is very generous considering that very little happens beyond Ms. Stewart dawdling limply around the screen, having inane chats with NPCs, buying clothes or riding a horse.
In the Hannah Montana sections, you get to "play along" to full length versions of her hits (which I suppose some might see as a positive) but unfortunately the controls are horribly clunky and often completely unresponsive and relate to on-screen prompts that seem to have no relation to what is actually going on on-screen.
All in all, this drab and ugly game with its terrible dual storyline, truly offers the worst of both worlds.
