2009 has come to a close, and 2010 has leaped upon us, like a Left4Dead hunter on poor innocent little Zoe. Dealspwn has been up and running for about 6 months now, and we're getting busier and busier every day!
From myself, and all of the team here at Dealspwn, we'd like to say Happy New Year!
Highlights of 2009
We had some great video game deals over the last few months. One of the most popular deals was Left4Dead2 for only £15, shortly after the release date. This was more than half the cost of the next best price. A lot of people ordered it from Tesco, who took the money, then decided to disappoint everyone and cancel all the orders. There were a lot of unhappy bunnies in that thread.
But sadly, many of the best deals only last for a few days, or even a few hours! You've sometimes got to be quick to grab those good bargains.
Believe it or not, the Game offer codes were also very popular, even though people often express their feelings at the general crappiness of the bargains on Game's website.
As for interesting articles, one of the most commented upon was John's write-up about the dreaded YLOD on the PS3, following a TV article on Watchdog on the same issue. If you want a light read, have a look at Felix's top ten video game plot twists, which also spawned some interesting conversation.
What's in the future?
We hope Dealspwn to grow to become your first stop for gaming deals in the UK.
As mentioned recently, we're working on a video games price comparison engine (currently in beta) which we hope will evolve to be an excellent resource when you are looking for the best prices on your games.
We're planning on keeping you up to date with new releases and popular upcoming games, and helping you find the best bargains for those.
In January 2010, we plan on running a poll for the best video game of 2009 - so keep an eye out for that, and get your votes in.
