Most Highly Anticipated Games in 2012?

curzonmike |  Jan. 16, 2012 at 17:49

So what game are you guys looking forward to most in 2012?

It's got to be GTA V for me. I loved GTA IV, I know some people didn't get on with it, but I thought it was still one of the finest, well-crafted games. Niko was a great central character and yeah, the whole mobile phone calls thing got a bit tiresome, but overall it might be my favourite in the series...along with Vice City Stories on the PSP.

Can't wait for GTA V. Rockstar are only getting better with age.

The Last Guardian, though there's every chance that it will be my most anticipated game of 2013 as well. Failing that, Bioshock Infinite

New DMC if it hits in 2012, Tomb Raider, FF13-2 and SSX for me.

I just hope we don't get another late in the year release-fest.

I'm with /0 - GTA for me. I don't think I've ever been disappointed with any GTA game. Each has it's flaws, certainly, but they're massively outweighed by the stories, the superb level design, the (often quirky, but usually fantastic) engine, and the constant suprises as you discover new features several hours or days into playing (including the "Wow, I've driven past that a dozen times without noticing it!" moments!).

My other "can't wait" game for 2012 is Bioshock - which I assume will finally arrive this year (but I'll not hold my breath - not least because I'm pretty sure I can't hold my breath until Q4).

X:Rebirth for me, but that's about it. I don't know what it is, but I don't have a good feeling about this year's Triple-A market , especially now the trilogy series have been and gone...

In fact, I'm more interested in the indie genre and seeing what little gems they produce this year!
