Sony's Kaz Hirai fired a shot across the bow of the cloud gaming industries at CES, suggesting that the immediate future of the industry lay in dedicated home consoles dealing in physical media rather than streaming services.
"It's very important that we continue to have a dedicated home-based console," Hirai told assembled members of the press. "Relying solely on networks to deliver content is unfortunately just not possible. It's still very difficult to have consumers download 50 gigabytes of data or more."
