Get Adorable Agent 47 Statue With Hitman: Absolution's Deluxe Professional Edition

When The Professional Edition Just Isn't Deluxe Enough

Square Enix has revealed another special edition for Hitman Absolution: the Deluxe Professional Edition.

Which, as you can see, features the most adorable Agent 47 ever: a ten inch vinyl statue that once again calls the tone of the game into question looks awesome. You'll also snag an art book, a making-of DVD, sniper challenge access and the Agency Gun Pack DLC. The Deluxe Professional Edition will apparently be "strictly limited" when it hits shelves on November 20th 2012.

Hitman: Absolution is shaping up nicely - might I suggest a scoping out our E3 hands-on preview?

Hitman: Absolution Hands-On Preview | Absolute Choice

Io Interactive came to E3 2012 on a mission: to demonstrate that Hitman Absolution will be infinitely more than a straightforward action game. Up until now, the marketing campaign and developer walkthroughs focused on visceral combat and action that admittedly made for some sensational trailers, but left series fans confused about whether the anticipated title would live up to their expectations in terms of stealth, tactics and creative sandbox fun. The 'Saints' E3 trailer compounded the problem further, adding sexy killer nuns into the already convoluted equation.

Fear not, Hitman fans. Under the slightly disingenuous advertising lies a true Hitman game, one that hinges on player choice while rewarding us for using stealth, opportunism and creativity in orchestrating the perfect silent kill. Having experienced a developer walkthrough and copious amounts of hands-on contact time, I'm in the position to inform you that imagination - not assault rifle and shotguns - is going to be the most powerful weapon in your arsenal of assassination.

The hands-on build threw us into a bustling town square, wherein we were tasked with assassinating the self-styled 'King' of Chinatown (in reality, a well-connected lowlife). After sauntering through the dense crowds, some stopping to enjoy street entertainment or sample cooking from streetside vendors, I tracked my target down using the new Instinct Mode. Much like Assassin's Creed's Eagle Vision, this vision mode allows Agent 47 to pick out threats and targets against a dark blue background, even seeing through walls in order to better understand the lay of the land.

IO: Older Hitman Marketing Campaigns "Super Action Focused" Too

IO Interactive's Luke Valentine has tried to assuage fan fears that the stealth aspects of the older Hitman games might not be preserved in the upcoming Hitman: Absolution by noting that the Silent Assassin rating is still a big part of the game, and drawing comparisons between the marketing campaigns for this game, and older releases.

IO Interactive: Hitman Absolution Not Forgetting Its Hardcore Roots

Developer IO Interactive have come out in the face of worries from fans that Hitman's return might mean a new direction for the series to assuage fears of dumbing down, saying that not only will there be Achievements that will require you to exhibit the behaviour of a truly stealthy, deadly assassin but that the game footage that has been shown - with Codename 47 engaging in a rather scripted sequence, skulking about a library, running from the police, squaring off against a helicopter and stumbling across some hippies in the process - should not be taken to signify a drastic change in focus.
