THQ's Red Dawn-inspired shooter Homefront wasn't quite the success the publisher was banking on - developers Kaos Studios have since closed their doors - but solid sales and a healthy community response have prompted them into profit-minded action, as DLC map pack 'The Rock' is due very soon, apparently. Boasting four maps, it'll retail for the low low price of 400 MS Points.
THQ appear to be Michael Bay fans, as not only is their upcoming Homefront DLC map pack named after probably his best film, it also sports an Alcatraz map, too. Described as a close-quarters arena, Alcatraz joins Bridge, set on the Golden Gate's far-flung sprawl, as Ground Control mode's new offerings.
Team Deathmatch mode is getting some love, too, with an additional two maps set to join the playlists. Waterway is set on a flooded spillway, with store-fronts and the like crumbling under your gunfire. And finally, Overpass, the once Ground Control-exclusive map, is making its way to the bloody-minded carnage of Team Deathmatch.
It's not an eye-opening chunk of DLC, but the discount price is palatable and a clear sign of THQ's intent. They want to reward fans of the game and hopefully entice a few owners back. Good on you, lads.
