Considering Crytek have announced they will be developing a sequel, this could prove to be an opportune time to see what all the fuss is about. The offer from Simply Games, which is the lowest price we’ve seen for the PC version, provides a saving of £4.50 over the next cheapest deal over at Cool Shop.
The single player campaign is a short but enjoyable affair that doesn’t really break the FPS mould, although the multiplayer is really where it’s at (especially at later experience levels.) Be sure to check out Brendan’s review for the full scoop. Thanks to Goonertillidie @ HUKD!
Amazon and Play are locked in a bitter war over who can give Homefront away for the most piffling amount of money. £5.99 seems to be their latest level, which I think we can all agree is still a bit pricey for the singleplayer campaign. The multiplayer suite, however, is awesome and deserves to be supported over the coming months (despite the major incoming competition).
Homefront is a perfect case of great multiplayer at the expense of an overhyped, miserable singleplayer campaign. Massive vehicular online rumbles are the order of the day, with Battle Points providing players with an ever-evolving set of battlefield options. Conversely, the solo outing is fairly terrible, badly paced and extremely short.
If you're in the market for the Xbox 360 version, Zavvi are the cheapest around.
If you like shooting a whole load of enemies with a ridiculous amount of guns, but you want a bit of emotion thrown into the mix for good measure, then Homefront's probably the game for you! The multiplayer's also pretty good fun and there are plenty of modes for you to jump into, in order to earn a few Battle Points. Play are parting with Xbox 360 and PS3 copies of the game for £9.99, which'll save you £6 on the 360 version and almost £5 on the PS 3 version. Thanks to woozzle @ HUKD.
Well, it's only been a couple of days since my last Homefront deal post, however the PC version of the game's received a nice price drop over at The Hut, so you can pick up a copy for £9.85 and save yourself over £5 on the next best offers out there! This one's a great multiplayer shooter with plenty of modes to plough your way through whilst you build up your Battle Points, however the single player leaves a little to be desired because it'll only last you between 4 to 5 hours.
As multiplayer shooters go Homefront's pretty good fun and there are plenty of modes for you to run around avoiding enemy fire in whilst earning as many Battle Points as you possibly can. Unfortuntely, the single player's not quite as impressive seeing as you'll plough through it in a couple of hours, however it does try to slip a bit of emotion amongst all the violence. HMV are parting with Xbox 360 copies of the game for £12.99, which'll save you £3 on the next best offers out there. Thanks to Kodoku @ HUKD.
Homefront's single player is incredibly short, although the story's not bad and tries to mix action with emotion, so you should only really think about forking out for it if you want another multiplayer shooter. Now whilst there aren't that many modes for the multiplayer, it's still incredibly addictive and you'll find yourself going back to it again and again. Zavvi are parting with PC copies of the game for £12.85, which'll make you a saving of £2 on the next best offer coming in from The Hut.
