Homefront might not have been the CoD-conqueror publisher THQ was hoping for - it's unlikely Call of Duty will ever be beaten until Activision themselves slip up - but its claimed itself an audience large enough to convince the brass to greenlight a sequel, although sadly at the cost of the original team, who've since been terminated.
However, fans of the original Homefront can look forward to a bombastic 'Ultimate Edition', set to hit shelves by the end of the current financial year. That's March 31st, so it's due in the next few months. However, THQ has yet to reveal just what this 'Ultimate Edition' entails, although it's not hard to imagine a bundled offering of the original game plus all the DLC and some tired collectable. How about a figurine of a solider, dramatically posing? That's original. [Eurogamer]
THQ's Red Dawn-inspired shooter Homefront wasn't quite the success the publisher was banking on - developers Kaos Studios have since closed their doors - but solid sales and a healthy community response have prompted them into profit-minded action, as DLC map pack 'The Rock' is due very soon, apparently. Boasting four maps, it'll retail for the low low price of 400 MS Points.Click here for more
