If you're in the market for a "family fun" title (like the folks from our sister site, PlayPennies) for your 360 then you could actually do worse than the latest Ice Age game (of course you could also do a lot better too). Shop To's current price of £8.85 is less than a third of the next best of £32.97 from Tesco Entertainment, meaning that you stand to save at least £24.
Despite being both designed for kids and a movie tie-in, Dawn of the Dinosaurs is not all bad. There's a decent variety of gameplay on offer here, six different characters to take on, each with their own narrative and gaming experience and some excellent voice acting to enjoy.
That said it has received mediocre games from almost everyone but better than average scores for a game of this type (typically it receives around 6.5/10 but rarely attains less than 6). The graphics aren't too hot but they are colourful and cheery and the dialogue is surprisingly entertaining and amusing and brought to life well by the aforementioned voice acting. The main problem seems to lie with its easiness rather than a lack of enjoyment in gameplay. So if you are looking for a decent quality kids' game or you are a fan of the film and can cope with some gentle, non challenging play then you may find that it is worth picking up Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
