Have a glance into the not so distant future with fresh details emerging regarding Tekken 6. And finally, look back nostalgically 18 years in the past, when a spiky- haired 2D hedgehog changed computer games forever…
White Stripes Attack Guitar Hero Gamers
Aside from writing the odd song, cracking a few skulls and attending his anger management classes, moody White Stripes vocalist Jack White has taken to venting his rage on kids who play Guitar Hero. At a recent LA Awards Show the star described it as ‘sad’ that kids were experiencing music via computer games - and his sentiments were later echoed by Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page.
So who in their right mind would dispute the word of two global rock superstars in a debate about music? Sure, I am game. Firstly isn’t it a good thing kids are learning to appreciate some really classic rock music they might never have heard had it not been for GH? Also, who’s to say that Guitar Hero doesn’t act as a stepping stone and actually get people wanting to learn the guitar for real?
O well probably nothing. I mean Jack’s obviously making a really sincere point when he has just signed a contract for one of his own songs to appear on the next edition of Guitar Hero. And what’s the name of the track, o yea, ‘Ker - Ching!’. [EuroGamer]

Empire: Total War gets first DLC
It was only a matter of time before SEGA released some really good downloadable goodies for Empire Total War. For anyone who got stung paying out an extra £10 for some really rubbish extra content, all I can say is you should have checked out Dealspwn first where – in this post – we told you it was a con! Yes, just like Cassandra, our powers of foresight were proved true. So if you wisely opted for the cheaper version of ETW then good for you, if not, prepare to feel the burn as SEGA are now offering 14 new units for $3.50! [GameSpot]
Happy Birthday Sonic!
Yes believe it or not, Sonic the hedgehog is about to celebrate his 18th birthday and doesn’t it make you feel old! (Perhaps he has finally grown into that pair of oversized trainers.) SEGA’s loveable mascot first hit the shelves back in 1991 when the company needed a new character to replace Alex the Kidd. However, like so many child stars, Sonic hasn’t aged like a fine wine. His latest sequels have been disastrous, with Sonic (next gen) voted as one of the worst ever game sequels. So, far from celebrating another year on top, he will probably be drowning his sorrows with 8 cans of Stella… [Game Hunter]
