Oh-My-God! - GIGANTIC ARMY!!! - Cybernator!!?!

When can I get my grubby little mitts on this Jon?!

(my mitts are not grubby, though they are more dainty than a Polish builder's)

Knowing Nyu, they'll initially release a DRM-free downloadable version via their official site, GamersGate and other marketplaces - then follow it up with a Steam Greenlight campaign that usually goes through fairly quickly. I'll keep you posted with exact release details (I've asked for specifics), and likely a review closer to launch!

On the offchance that you don't know (apologies if you do), do be aware that Gigantic Army isn't a port of Valken/Cybernator, rather it's an indie homage. A very, very good one AFAIK.

Hey Jon, thanks for the update and yes I'll definitely be interested in further news and certainly a review!!

Yeah, I watched the video and from the description could see it was a homage to Cybernator and the ilk. I always wondered why there was no sequel on the SNES, so hopefully this will fill the hole in my life for a side-srolling 2D mech shooter.

UPDATE: Gigantic Army may release before year's end, but more likely early next year, Nyu tells me. There's no set release date yet.

However, Armed Seven has quietly released on Desura to prepare for inclusion in a new Groupees bundle, which will apparently go live later this week.

@X10: FYI, I'm currently working on the Gigantic Army review/little Let's Play.

Oh my. It's... freaking excellent. Annoying time limits, but otherwise pure bot-crushing beam-cannoning lance-stabbing dodge-dashing shield-blocking mech-stomping boss-smashing shotgun-blasting action at its most ridiculous.

Also, I guess, happy birthday?

Oh Jon - You big tease!!

Sad times, but can't afford it at the moment so I will simply have to hold-off reading the review until some time in the near future.

Thank you for the Birthday wishes! Great day so far :)
