Football might be known as the beautiful game, but Home Entertainment Software are planning on stealing the title for Rugby with their upcoming sports title. Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge will offer a wealth of game modes, authentic teams, multiplayer and commentators, and we've got the details and a shiny new trailer after the break.
Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge promises to deliver an uncompromising rugby experience, featuring a multi year Career Mode, single match options as well as extensive Tutorial Mode options available for players new to the sport. It will provide 93 preset international teams and 31 stadia including official team and competition licenses for the All Blacks, the Qantas Wallabies, the USA Eagles, Aviva Premiership Rugby, Tri Nations, Bledisloe Cup, Super Rugby teams, TOP 14 Orange, RaboDirect PRO12, ITM Cup and the Ranfurly Shield. Multiple replay angles, cut-scenes and try celebrations and real-time commentary from seasoned rugby commentators Grant Nisbett and Justin Marshall should help to lock down the presentation side of things.
Players will be able to customise their players, teams and competitions using the included editing suite, and can engage in local multiplayer or 4 vs 4 online matches.
It's also looking fairly shiny. Here's some HD footage courtesy of Home Entertainment Software.
Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge is set to release in Q3 2011 on Xbox 360, PS3 and Steam. We'll keep an eye on it.
