Nordic Games are best known for their We Sing and We Dance franchises, but this holiday season, they plan to branch out into that most pervasive of genres: karting. Jungle Kartz has now been confirmed for a November 16th UK release date on Nintendo Wii, where it will offer 32 tracks and support both the Wii Wheel and Inflatakart peripherals.
I must admit that the preview build needed a lot of work when I checked it out at Gamescom. Here's hoping that they've been polishing it like crazy over the last few months. We've got more details after the break.
Jungle Kartz features eight "challenging" environments covering 32 monster tracks including Tropic Bay, Rift River Valley, Ra Desert and more, as well as eight "fun-loving" animal characters who boast a unique special track advantage (including Sass the Tigress, Gus the Gorilla, Rocky the Coyote and many more).
Designed for all ages, players can take on a variety of racing challenges – including Quick Race, Time Trial and Tournament mode.
Each element of the game has apparently been designed so that players can choose a character and kart that suits their driving style. Vehicles range from light rapid karts to powerful speed machines. Players are offered an abundance of power ups to throw in their opponent’s way - including the speed boost, time warp, guns, rockets, spider webs and ice puddles.
Jungle Kartz is a fun, all-action racing game that caters for all ages and will definitely bring out players competitive sides. We’ve continued to extend our peripheral range so that players can gain maximum enjoyment with any of our games. Jungle Kartz is a fantastic addition to this and can be played with the comfort of the Nordic Steering Wheel for a more authentic racing experience. - Nik Blower, sales and marketing director, Nordic Games
Again, here's hoping that Nordic Games have managed to deliver a Karting game that's worth our time and attention. We'll know soon enough.
