Kaz Hirai will officially become the President and CEO of the Sony corporation as of April 1st, taking over the role from Howard Stringer. This was originally rumoured and officially debunked earlier this month - but Nikkei's report was correct down to the date. There's no smoke without fire.
Stringer is confident that his successor will deliver the goods.
“Kaz is a globally focused executive for whom technology and the cloud are familiar territory, content is highly valued, and digital transformation is second nature.I believe his tough-mindedness and leadership skills will be of great benefit to the company and its customers in the months and years ahead. I look forward to helping Kaz in every way I can so that succession leads inevitably to success.”
We just hope that Hirai will continue to do his popular E3 keynote.
