Gameplay Trailer Highlights The Carnage
The second of our Playstation Vita trailers this morning give us a long-awaited in-game look at Killzone: Mercenary. You can check out the explosive trailer, along with a collection of screenshots and some more information on the portable shooter, after the jump.
In a post on the Playstation Blog, it is revealed that players will assume the role of Arran Danner, former ICA soldier turned mercenary, as he takes missions from both sides of the war in a plot that sees him chasing after the Vektan ambassador’s son. Taking place after the original Killzone, and visiting locations from throughout the franchise, Mercenary will include 9 missions that will last around an hour in length, and will unlock replay challenges and special objectives upon completion.
In addition to the single player campaign, a multiplayer suite will also be included where 8 players will be able to fight across 3 modes, with the Warzone mode making the jump from the PS3 versions. Depending on how players perform in the multiplayer matches and the main campaign, they will be rewarded with in-game currency which will unlock new gear and weapons for them to use, hopefully for an even bigger paycheck.
The upcoming FPS title, being developed by Guerrilla Cambridge, has also been given a release date – September 18th. We can apparently expect more details on the multiplayer modes in the near future, and we’ll keep you up to date on the latest news as it appears. In the meantime, have these screenshots for your embiggening pleasure.
