Have any details been released on what size room is required?

My front room is fairly small. I borrowed a friend's Kinect a year or two back, and found it quite good fun (don't judge me - I had it for a day or two, and most new stuff is better in the first few days you have it :p ) but it really required a bigger room than I have. It was constantly telling me to move across or step back, depending on where I stood. Ideally it wanted me right in the middle of where I have a sofa...

I'm told Kinect 2.0's fancier cameras etc. mean it'll work in a smaller room, but has there been any official word on this, yet?

Unofficially it has wide angle lenses, so it should work better with smaller rooms.

It needs to as well. My living room is a good size, but I still need spot spend a few minutes moving my sofa and coffee table back. I wouldn't even entertain trying to get it to work in my bedroom!

Thanks faultered - very helpful!

That's a little disappointing, tbh. 5ft rather than 6ft certainly helps, and I'm definitely well over 6ft away when sat down, so should be fine for most games/applications.

I guess I'll probably mount it on the wall above/behind the tv. That'll give us an extra foot or so, as the TV's at an angle in the corner of the room.

(I'm assuming the info in the link is true - it's currently unverified, but rings true.)

No probs, didn't realise how old the thread was until I'd pasted in the link and clicked submit.
