Are you a budding developer? Are you sitting on a hot Kinect app, striving to turn your new creation into big business? Would you like $20k, office space, and some expert advice from industry bigwigs at Microsoft? Well, if you answered yes to all of those, Microsoft's new Kinect Accelerator programme might well be of interest.
Microsoft are essentially offering $20,000 to ten successful companies/applicants to go and play around with the Windows Kinect SDK and an Xbox development kit out in Seattle for three months.
We’ll take companies starting with fully developed products and funding,' reads the official FAQ. 'Every company participating in the Kinect Accelerator will receive an investment of $20,000, an Xbox development kit, the Windows Kinect SDK, office space, all the resources of BizSpark, technical training and support, and mentorship from entrepreneurs, investors and Microsoft executives intensely focused on making their business a success.
Your company does not necessarily need experience developing with Kinect, but the business concept does need to leverage Kinect capabilities as part of the final offering. Your team must also be willing to develop the technical skills required to bring your solution to a functioning prototype. - Microsoft
