Kinect Star Wars Bundle & Game Hitting Shelves On April 3rd

Kinect Star Wars has a release date, for both game and console bundle, and they'll both be dropping worldwide on April 3rd. Aside from the main Jedi Destiny: Dark Side Rising story mode, and the Podracing and Rancor Rampage modes that were already on our radar, Microsoft and LucasArts revealed two new modes yesterday: Galactic Dance Off and Duels of Fate.

The latter will essentially take the form of a battle mode, a training simulator of sorts to sharpen your Jedi skills, while the former does pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. You'll be shaking that moneymaker to the stylings of John Williams and Max Rebo, and least we hope you will, though the official statement suggests that this mode will come "loaded with Star Wars-themed pop tunes where those still honing their Jedi skills can take a break to battle Darth Vader on the dance floor or bust a move 'Solo style.'"

In addition to that revelation, there's also news that the Jedi Destiny mode has been expanded to include space battles and the ability to jump into a landspeeder or scout bike.

Frankly, we're more excited about the limited edition R2-D2 console and his C-3PO controller companion, because, even though it's astonishingly expensive, every second spent staring at it makes us want it more.

Kinect Star Wars and the Kinect Star Wars Xbox Bundle will be launching with RRPs of £39.99 and £349.99 respectively, you can find our Kinect Star Wars preview here.

The console does look nice but I intend to cancel my pre-order.

Don't want the Star wars game, don't want the Kinect.

The cheapest new 250GB console I could find costs £170 (which still seems like too much).

I only want to buy a new 360 console in case I want to play any of my old games for nostalgic reasons. My Jasper is a bit noisy now.
