But Similar On The Surface
As promised, Official PlayStation Magazine UK have spilled some new details about Hideo Kojima's next project: the amorphous Project Ogre. And by new details, we of course mean that Kojima has fobbed us off with some non-answers yet again, that sly fox(hound). Project Ogre will apparently be superficially similar to his past games, but will offer a markedly "different" and more "subdued" experience compared to his back catalogue. Full quotes and story below.
When asked about the tantalising project by OPM, Kojima suggested that things will be different... and that we shouldn't hold our breath waiting.
I can’t really say too much about that project yet, but it’s a very subdued experience. It’s a little bit different to what I’ve done up until now. On the surface it will look similar, but once you get into it, it will be a different experience – and I’m hoping people look forward to that.
The Ogre project is going to take a lot of time, so I want to produce some other things on the side, like I’m doing with Rising. So while I’m working on Ogre there might be a couple of other projects going on at the same time.
A "couple" of other projects is a bit of an understatement, considering that Kojima Productions still have Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D, Metal Gear Solid: Rising and the Zone of the Enders HD Collection in the skunkworks. It will come when it's done - and we'll keep monitoring all communications from deep within the heart of Arsenal Gear. I mean, the Dealspwn Office.
What do you expect - and desire - from Project Ogre? Let us know!
