Here's another deal for a zombie themed game for you, this time around though you'll be squaring off against some fast moving undead enemies with a couple of companions, rather than slow moving Romero style zombies.
You can grab a copy of the game on the Xbox for £14.99 from Play, which is just over £6 cheaper than the next best offer of £21.25 coming in from Tesco Entertainment.
The game revolves around a new set of survivors, who have to fight against the ever increasing ranks of the undead, and include Coach, Nick, Rochelle, and Ellis. Before you step onto the killing fields, you'll be able to kit yourself out melee weapons, guns, explosives, and the precious medicine that'll keep you in the game should a zombie (or more likely zombies) manage to get its claws on you.
When I first played Left 4 Dead, I had no idea what to expect and decided to ditch my AI friends in favour of exploring the environment on my own. That was a big mistake! Within a few moments, my innards were being ripped out of my body by a horde of hungry creatures and I quickly realised that this was a team game. The other survivors are incredibly important as they'll save you from any zombies that slipped past your gaze or patch you up when you get hurt, so it pays off to keep them alive. Whilst playing by yourself is great fun, forming a team with a couple of friends over Xbox Live is the best experience that the game provides.
The zombie hordes are controlled by a pretty impressive bit of AI known as 'The Director', which analyses what you're doing in the game and adjusts things accordingly. This means that if you're struggling with one particular section of the game it'll ease off on you for a bit, or if you're easily blasting your way through the horde it'll throw everything it can at you.
Left 4 Dead 2 provides you with a nice dose of adrenaline fuelled action combined with a few jump out of your seat moments, and you should definitely pick up a copy if you get the chance.
