If you are interested in the brand new Left 4 Dead 2 but have been waiting for a more palatable price tag, then I suggest you make your merry way to Tesco Entertainment online asap as they are currently selling copies for the surely-a-misprice?! price of just £15. This is less than half the next best offer of £37.49 from Cool Shop, giving you a saving of £22.49!
It might be a good idea to take and save a screenshot just in case this is a mistake and you are sent the original Left 4 Dead instead!
Following on from the original Left 4 Dead, the sequel sees you taking charge of four new survivors as they make their way through the sickened lands of the Infected hordes. Each survivor can carry one main weapon, a pistol or two and a melee weapon; anything ranging from a chainsaw to a frying pan.
Famous for its co-op gameplay, this instalment to the Left 4 Dead series has also added a fantastic new versus mod: Scavenge as well as a host of further welcome improvements such as fun new abilities for the infected, excellent new campaigns with great level design, brilliant new weapons and more interesting survivors with deeper stories. The realism mode is nail bitingly tense and exciting and is just another reason why the sequel is far superior to the original. It’s not without its faults of course; it’s not for everyone and the gameplay hasn’t really moved along very far, plus those playing on the 360 are bound to run into some slow-down at some point.![Left 4 Dead 2 £15 @ Tesco Entertainment [XBox 360 Games] Photo Left 4 Dead 2 £15 @ Tesco Entertainment [XBox 360 Games]](http://www.dealspwn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Expired.jpg)

Ebay will be flooded!
Appropriate bargain, GIVEN THE NUMBER OF PESKY VULTURES SWOOPING DOWN LIKE FLIES TO A S**T!
Insane price! Thanks Lydia.
Was going to buy a few, but couldn’t be bothered with selling on ebay.
Sorry, I have been away for a few hours, does anybody know why has the thread on HUKD been removed?
its back again
the deal is still on tesco website and HUKD hopefully they will honour the price
they have taken it off. shame!!
Left4Dead4 …… £15
Chance of this being honoured ….. 0%
Watching the internet explode in angsty whining when the cancellations go out …. priceless
Yeah, it just got cancelled on me
Can’t really type for the tears falling on the keyboard.
I have to buy four of these things for Christmas and was hoping for the MW2 style price-drop that never happened.
tesco state in email, “Unfortunately, there was an error in the price at the time that you placed your order, and as a result we have had to cancel this item in your order. You have not been charged for this game and the remainder of your order will be dispatched as normal.” they offer a £2 coupon for error which is F***n S**T! they can cancel order before dispatch
Just got my cancellation email too
Same for me… And a £2 coupon that expires in a month is rather paltry.
If you wish to complain, you can register your complaint via the Tescoentertainment.com phone number, which is 08456002722.
Alternatively, if you address a complaint e-mail to customer.service@tesco.co.uk, marking it for the attention of Terry Leahy, you might get somewhere.
(Brian- you were spot on! Hope this wasn’t too big an explosion of angst for you.)
No – actually a very poor show of angst. Disappointed.
I need to get to one of those sites where the ebay sellers hang out.
While I understand the frustration and the fairness (or otherwise) of Tesco actions. It was clearly a misprice – sometimes they come off, sometimes they don’t. Start getting cross and sending letters off all over the place will just add to your stress and mean absolutely nothing to Tesco.
Dear Benchpress,
Thank you for your recent order with Tesco Entertainment for ‘Left 4 Dead 2′ for Xbox 360.
Unfortunately, there was an error in the price at the time that you placed your order, and as a result we have had to cancel this item in your order. You have not been charged for this game and the remainder of your order will be dispatched as normal.
We apologise for the inconvenience and would like to offer you £2 off your next order with Tesco Entertainment.
WHAT A F’ING JOKE
Really sorry everyone who had their order cancelled! It was obviously a risk but I thought it was worth posting anyway… Just another addition to my list of Reasons to Hate Tesco.
It’s a very mild sort of hate though isn’t it ?
You’ll still drum up business for them on this site if their prices are right.
Yeah got mine canceled too, although a few people are reporting to of had theirs through…so hit and miss it seems.
Also lol: http://www.gamebrit.com/comic/?19
Hold on but if tesco still charges you and take money out the account.. they have to honor it right, as they have advertised it at the price and taken money of you…trading standards or some shit right?
Yeah, Bradd, you’re right.
Unfortunately they hadn’t dispatched the items and thus hadn’t taken the money out of the accounts. So all this adds up to is terrible customer service.
Loved the gamebrit comic, btw!
They took money out of my account..100percent they did. as im now into my over draft. Ive emailed them telling them that ive been charged even though they sed they dint charge me. Dam you Alla! Hopefully they will honor it! I told them a 2 pound voucher is unacceptable.
Do they Have to sell me the game now as they charged me? Any 1 know the law behind this?
why did u order it if u were that close to your overdraft?????sounds a bit daft to me lol
Now they’re quite slippery on this.
They say that they are only legally obliged to give the the game for that price if it’s already dispatched.
Legally speaking, I’m sure they have to honour the sale as soon as money changes hands.
Either way it should amount to the same thing as they shouldn’t charge until they dispatch.
Check your account to make sure that it was Tesco taking the money out.
If a price is given as wrong, the shop has no legal obligation to honour that price, providing they have not already taken your money.
Whether it’s a High Street shop or a website, everything that is advertised and the prices that are given are basically an invitation to the customer to browse and decide whether to buy something.
A shop has the legal right to refuse to sell anything to anyone, so if they discover an item is wrongly priced, if no money has changed hands (for that particular item, regardless what else you buy) they can withdraw that item from sale.
I tried to complain in an email but it kept saying you cant write over 2500 words, even though I had only written about 500…what a joke!
I had the same problem with the word count. Ended up sending a letter to the address listed further up in these comments. No reply so far…
They took my money also
and refunded it
a contract is formed on taking the cash
every retailer knows this
it doesnt matter what theyr terms say
but they know most people will just call it a day
Oh Boo Hoo couldnt get the game at a price u all knew was a mistake lol makes me laugh how some of u are having a go at tesco for NOT charging u full price and sending out the game lol Your lucky they didnt charge u at all lol
i agree totally that it was worth a try to get the game at that price, but dont bitch and moan when it didnt work lol
Has anyone that ordered still waiting for a refund?
They took money out on 2nd December and it still hasn’t been refunded, ridiculous that it takes a week to refund someone, especially when they’re the ones that screwed up.
Nope, haven’t had my refund yet and they took mine out on the first. I did a law degree so the first thing I thought was ‘bingo! Now they’ve got my money they HAVE to send me the game’. Unfortunately TESCO’s lawyers have been busy things…
If you check the T&Cs it says no contract is formed with Tesco until IMMEDIATELY prior to dispatch (aka when they send it to you), which means even if they take your money there’s still no contract. and there’s a specific clause in there about mis-pricing.
Sounds like they did it intentionally to get a whole wave of new accounts to market to but has backfired.
Left them an email about my refund and their ‘help’line is constantly engaged. If this wasn’t the biggest company in the UK I’d be thinking I’m never getting my money back and it all looks a bit dodgy…
T tried too and failed, but i personally reckon deals like this happen when tech guys get a warning to piss off their boss lol
